What do you do if you want to carry out a spot of DIY servicing or routine maintenance on your vehicle but you don’t have anywhere suitable to do it? Well, if you live in or around the Ribble Valley, the answer is easy… you hire our short-term workspace for the day, the week or longer!

Our indoor, purpose built premises consists of an open-plan, high roof workshop for the servicing and maintenance of cars and vans, a separate studio area for motorcycles and bicycles and a smaller workshop for bench type projects.  There is also a breakout area upstairs, equipped with a comfortable leather sofa, television, kitchen facilities and even a Playstation for when you need a little downtime.

Our workshop has a range of tools and equipment on hand, some of which are available to use on a complimentary basis and others are chargeable, to make your life easier and to make sure your project goes without a hitch.

All in all, our unique workspace is well-equipped, functional, clean and comfortable, providing the ideal environment in which to work on your car, small-mid sized van, motorcycle, bicycle or pretty much any other project you can think of… and it doesn’t have to be a mode of transport either!

Our workshop is well appointed and offers the following facilities:-

What Are The Payment Terms?

You pay a 50% reservation fee when making the booking and the balance for the duration of hire on the first day of rental, plus any additional items which you may require. The reservation fee is fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to your chosen date(s) and non-refundable thereafter. We also ask for a £100 security deposit on the day of arrival which is an excess to cover any accidental damages.

For example, if you hire the workspace for a single midweek day with no optional extras, you will pay   £47.50 at the time of booking and the balance of £47.50 on the day of arrival, plus the £100 security deposit. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, providing the cancellation is made at least 48 hours prior to your arrival, you will receive a full refund, otherwise we will retain the £47.50 initially paid to cover our administration costs. Providing the premises and equipment are left in the same condition as when you arrived, your £100 security deposit will be refunded.

Can I Book The Workspace For Longer Than 1 Day?

Of course, you can book the workspace for as long as you please, either on consecutive days or individual days throughout the year. The minimum period of hire is a single day and you will have access from 8am until 8pm the same evening, by which time you must have vacated the premises. We don’t have a maximum hire period and, for transparency, the daily rate(s) will always remain the same.

The only variation to our fixed pricing is if you pre-book the workspace for more than 7 days in a calendar month, in which case we offer a discounted rate of £80 per day.

Can I Hire The Workspace For Less Than A Day or Even Hourly?

No, unfortunately you can’t hire for less than a day. For us to keep our pricing affordable and to ensure that the workspace is always clean and tidy for the next occupant, we need a minimum of 1 day’s hire for it to be a viable business proposition and to provide a high quality of service to our customers.

What Can I And Can't I Do In The Workspace?

Although the workspace is primarily designed and set out for working on vehicles, you can do pretty much whatever you want as long as it is legal and above board!

Different areas of the premises facilitate different working environments. For example, we have a regular client who utilises the upstairs office area as a ‘hot desking’ space and another client who uses the workshop to take deliveries of stock before packing and shipping her products… and not a vehicle in sight!

Basically, it’s your space for the day and you are free to do whatever you please as long as you don’t disrupt the neighbours or encourage the police to come knocking on the door!

Am I Insured To Work In The Premises & Is It Secure?

It is important to understand that you are not covered for any personal damages, including injury, loss or theft, whilst you are working within our premises. All work undertaken is carried out entirely at your own risk and we will ask you to sign a disclaimer in this respect prior to occupying the premises. We do not accept any liability whatsoever for your personal safety or that of others whilst a short-term hire contract is in place.

Our equipment, including building and contents, are covered on our motor trade policy for which you will pay a deposit to cover any excess in the unlikely event of accidental damage.

The building itself and the environment is very secure. We have both physical and electronic security systems and procedures in place, together with CCTV which is in operation at all times to ensure your personal safety and security of the site.

How Many People Can I Bring With Me?

It’s really up to you how many colleagues, friends, workmates or family members you want to bring with you on the day. It really depends on what you intend to use the workspace for or the size of your project. As a general rule of thumb, we would say that up to 4 people would be acceptable but all we ask is that you respect your surroundings and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. Please bear in mind there are only two parking spaces outside.

Is Outside Car Parking Available?

Yes, two off-road car parking spaces are provided directly outside the workshop. The workshop is based on a business / light industrial park so it is very safe and set within a pleasant, rural environment. External CCTV is also in place which covers the area directly outside the premises.

What If I Book The Workspace For A Day But Don't Finish My Project?

If you are unsure as to how long your project will take, we would always recommend that you book the workspace for an extra day to allow for any unexpected issues or delays that you may encounter. You will have the space from 8am – 8pm on the day(s) of hire so there are a full 12 hours per day in which to complete your project. However, in the event of the workspace being booked out the following day, we would not be able to offer you an extension to your hire period. We can, however, provide a full refund for the extra day that you don’t use, providing that you have informed us before 6pm on the last day of hire.

For example, if you book the workspace for three days but find that you only need it for two days, as long as you inform us before 6pm on the second day, we would not charge you for the third day.

If you booked the workspace for three days but found that you only needed it for one, you would still be charged for two full days minimum as it would not be financially viable for us to operate otherwise.

Can I Get Any Food Whilst I'm On Site?

Yes you can. We provide full kitchen facilities for you to use during your visit at no additional cost. These include a fridge, kettle, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, mugs, glasses, cutlery and crockery – so you can bring your own food or drinks as you see fit. There is also a takeaway food van on site that serves both hot and cold food from 8am until 2pm each day – Debs makes an excellent spicy chicken baguette… highly recommended!
